Anyone have some multiplication memorization tips? 4th grade level

I have a 10 year old boy, he understands how multiplication works, as in it is that number that many times, but it will take him forever for him to do multiplication because he isn’t memorizing the order of the numbers, I was hoping it would come with time, but now were at the end of our school year and we are nowhere close to it being memorized. Any tips, games, ideas, help- anything really, would be appreciated 🙂

Times Tales was great for the larger numbers.

I just ordered Musical multiplication from The good and beautiful homeschool website. It is a new product but hope it helps my 4th grader as well.

An app called Pet Bingo from Duck Duck Moose has been helpful for my grade 3 daughter.

And I will tell you that my daughter has “learned” them three times and still, does not know them again.  She figures it out long hand and I have decided to let it go.

Lots of practice, obviously.  My daughter responded best with songs.  It activated a different part of her brain and really helped the facts stick.  There is a CD called multiplication mountain that was great, but her favorite songs came from Mr. DeMaio’s YouTube channel.  He puts the facts to the tunes of several different modern songs.

You can try the dessert tactic, for every set the earn a part of a treat like s’mores, or a banana split, something that has multi-layers. For each part they learn they get another ingredient- so when they learn 3’s and 4’s they get the Graham cracker coupon, when they learn 5’s and 6’s they get the marshmallow, etc. Then you can have a s’mores party (or whatever the treat) when theyve learned what they need to.

We have loved MathFacts Pro for working on fact fluency. It is a very motivating format for my son. https://mathfactspro.com/ It costs $5 per year for 5 kids (which is the minimum number you can purchase). The great thing is the program focuses on the facts your student needs to work on, and it keeps track of the information for you.

XtraMath website is free for all students. It keeps track of their progress and is for math facts for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. If you really want to donate to them you can pay $5 for their app for iOS.
